Firefox 4 Stable is finally available for download. The release has not been declared on the Firefox website yet; Mozilla is planning to announce the new version sometime tomorrow but you can now download it from the official Mozilla FTP servers. Firefox 4 brings a lot of new features, brand new look and major performance improvements with the new JägerMonkey JavaScript Engine.

New features in this release: Firefox Sync – Sync password, history, bookmarks, and other settings across multiple devices. Better tab management – arrange tab in a particular group and name it. Completely redesigned interface – tabs are now placed above address bar to provide maximum web viewing space. New open type fonts and support for HTML5, CSS3 for a fine web experience.

Download Links

Firefox Setup 4.0.exe Windows [11.9 MB]

Firefox 4.0.dmg Mac [26.8 MB]

Firefox-4.0.tar.bz2 Linux [14.8 MB]

Best browser on Earth! Although the change they made whereby when you right click a link and try to open in a new tab, the open in new tab and open in new window options have been switched around from the previous Firefox 3.6 web browser which was really annoying and stupid tbh. I got it fixed around using an add-on called Menu Editor 1.2.7 which lets you customize Firefox 4 browser settings like that one, so check it out if you haven't fixed this annoying change, I don't know how many times I made the mistake of opening a new window by accident because 'open link in new tab' had been switched to appear above instead of below...lol thank god there was a way to fix it and I switched it back, it was driving me nuts. Other that that, Firefox 4 Stable rocks and I love all other changes they introduced...well almost all, another slightly annoying thing is the orange Firefox drop-down menu at the top left hand corner as it takes an extra click to view Bookmarks/History/Downloads/Add-Ons/Options and they still haven't introduced a default Restart Firefox option (only way to get that atm is to use an add-on which I have installed, should be there by default really)...ok sorry for my rant about Firefox 4 pros & cons, I still like it a lot compared to IE and Opera though. biggrin
